About Me

Hi, I’m Sebastian! 👋

I’m an IT and security enthusiast in my 50s. I focus on bridging the gap between high-security digital systems and the tangible craft of the hardware world.

🐡 OpenBSD & Open Source

As an OpenBSD Ports & Package Maintainer, I actively contribute to the ecosystem of one of the world’s most secure operating systems. For me, security isn’t just a job; it’s a mindset.

  • Security & Network: I port and maintain tools for both “Red” and “Blue” sides, along with specialized networking utilities.
  • Diversity: My portfolio covers everything that was missing from the daily workflow—from software stacks like GNUstep to digital model railroad tools and even games.
  • Community: I take pride in adopting orphaned ports and bringing new software to the platform to make OpenBSD even more versatile for everyone.

🛠️ Making & Hardware

When I’m not at the terminal, you’ll likely find me in my workshop:

  • Hardware Tinkering: PCB-level hacking and precision soldering of custom circuits.
  • 3D Printing: As a maker, I enjoy turning digital designs into physical objects.
  • Model Railroads: Digitally controlling my layout perfectly blends my IT passion with classic craftsmanship.

🛹 Freestyle Skateboarding

A skateboard keeps you young. Freestyle skateboarding is my creative outlet—a sport that demands technical precision and relentless persistence, much like a well-crafted software port.

👨‍👩‍👦‍👦 Family

Outside of tech and sports, I’m a proud father of three boys. They make sure there’s never a dull moment at home and probably challenge me more often than any stubborn software port ever could.
